Agreed SR and PC - I often occupy myself working out random mathematical computations - eg I remember my average pace a few kilometres back was so much my average pace now is whatever, how fast does that mean I have run the last few kilometres - very sad, but I bet I'm not alone!

I think you guys are right.  To talk about pace reducing when you are going faster is clearly alien to most people's understanding of the word and distinctly over geeky!

Clearly I need to occupy my mind on thoughts of more consequence on my next LSR!

A little conundrum on use of English ...

I am running along at, say, 5min per kilometre pace.  I decide to go a bit faster, say 4m30s per kilometre.  Have I increased my pace or reduced it?  I have certainly increased my speed but my the measure of my pace is now a smaller number.  But if I say I have reduced my pace most people would understand me to have slowed down.  Perhaps the answer is to say my pace has quickened.

Are you wearing specialist running socks (the ones with different left and right foot)?  I find these make a big difference in preventing blisters compared to general sports socks.

Good luck
