Ha ha indeed Christina, high five to our scenic urban areas... speaking of which my pre-work jog took me past the police station this morning - hope they slap a lick of paint on that giant graffiti willy before the Queen comes through, that's all I'm saying...
Seriously though - can't remember who said it (tricia I think) earlier but good idea to add a 1% incline on the treadmill, it will make the transition easier when you decide to head out on to the road. Hope the weight loss is going well too?
I live in a particularly "vibrant" part of London and there is no chance I'd run outside in the dark so through the winter, the treadmill in the gym is my friend.
Can't get chickens, the neighbours would nick them and sell them back to me
Hi Helen, I've only run one, but if it helps I did the typical "start training in January for London Marathon at the end of April" thing and got round fine (on four runs a week), so I'm sure you can get round between now and Oct. I aimed for sub-5 though as I'd done a few halves so had a better idea of my likely first marathon time. Could you pencil in some half marathons and use them as markers?
