Hi All,

I'm with you Spence as I managed to be slower this time than 2 yrs ago despite training harder for it this year and doing a number of runs over 10 miles (only ever got to 10 twice before the 09 one!) It must have been the end (from Belgrave Middleway up to St James) that killed me as was oging okish til 10 miles and then my legs gave up. I managed to stumble on until Broad St when did a mini sprint (well fast jog) to try to shave off a few secs but the damage was done. Gutted. Please please change the end!!!

Very well organised and great atmosphere in some places but quiet in others compared to 09 I thought. Hopefully this will get much bigger though as I think it could cope.

Desperate now to crack 2hrs 30 but not quite sure how (well I know how: run faster!!!) Anyone else set themselves a mini goal?

Good luck all!!!

Very nervous and not in 100% health. Am also trying hard not to think about miles 10-12 which are soo hilly. ANyone have any good mind game tricks to keep you going when you feel you can't go on?

When 8 months pregnant and plodding along for a nice 2- 3 miler:

'You fat bastard' from a white van driver

and

'run faster' from teens in a car. Nice, when I clearly looked pregnant (big barrel of a tummy but still in running tights and vest.)

Favourites include:

Keep going and nearly there (never true.)

I have run mile 10ish to 11.5 ish from the Pershore Rd to Five ways via ST James's Rd and OMG how tough is it after already running 10!!!  Talk about evil long hill.

I already know that my last 3 miles are tortuous for me whatever the route but how the hell can I save enough for that!!!?? Note to self: must find Positive Mental Attitude for this bit.

Am excited and scared. How does anybody who normally runs their longer runs with a partner cope on race day when going it alone? (Mine's ridiculously fast so they'll bomb off whilst I plod from the back of the pink section!)

Scared of the big hill....how long does it last???!!

Up to 12 miles in training so should I do one or two long last ones of 13? Or not?

Am v slow (11-12 min miles) and would love to speed up but don't think have the strength. Advice?
