After months of getting fitter thought running I never felt better So much so that after I was bitten by the running bug I thought it would be an opportunity to do a few small races to prepare myself for my ultimate goal of completing a marathon. Unfortunalty a few months ago I got a leg injury that would not heal even after resting for two weeks at time, to make maters worse I appear to also have a trapped nerve that is now making me limp when I walk. I went to the doctors to get some advice because I did not want to stop as I have my first 10k race over the weekend, I gave a routine blood sample & he got me to make an appointment with the Physio Anyway, yesterday I got my blood results back & to add insult to injury it now turns out that my cholestrol level is too high, This news took the wind out my sails as I thought I was pretty healthy especially now that I have been running, losing weight etc. I feel so let down, I was looking forward to my first race My cholestral level is 6.9 by the way, It should be below 5 I can't even think of what foods to cut out because I do generally eat healthily, No fried breakfasts, no, take aways & I don't drink that much either |
