| Are there still individual places in this? I'll be slow but it looks like fun! |

Morning all, My wife and family have been asking for ideas for Xmas presents, and want them to be useful for me for the TP100 in March; however, I've got all the shoes/kit I need, so are there any other little ultra gizmos that you couldn't do without that I can suggest? Thanks JB |

We go right past my dad's front door on the TP100, I could pinch one of his kayaks and take the load of my feet - I'd still be doing the same route... hmmm. Silliness aside, given I haven't been able to run for a few weeks, and won't be until maybe November, for those of you based down south I'm doing a walking recce of a chunk of the night section (based on a 30 hour finish rather than sub-24)? We'll be starting on a Friday night after work either in Staines or Windsor and walking to wherever we end up able to get a train from the following morning (i'm guessing around Reading). It'll be a good exercise in experiencing sleep deprivation as we'll have been up for the whole of Friday before starting the walk, and having an idea of how much your walking slows down after 12 hours. Also an opportunity to test night kit - headtorches, etc, as well as recce which pubs/places to wee or get warm are still open at silly o clock in the morning. It'll probably be late October/early november by the time I actually get round to organising it. ANyone interested in joining me and a couple of other nutcases? |

| It was more like 2 weeks of actual trekknig with a few days R and R either side. Spent all of it over 3500m though, and about 8 days over 4500m including a few passes at over 5000m, so pretty good altitude training (for walking). Going to head out for a run this evening and see how it goes: the difference in fitness since I left is quite apparent (fitter now) but that's probably more an effect of the altitude and that I lost nearly a stone while there. Need to get the training rolling on now, otherwise my legs will fall off come March |

| I'm back from 3 weeks trekking in the moutains of Peru, what have I missed other than Sarah being dopey and getting a hurty ankle - nothing 10 days in the Maldives won't solve, eh? |
