Crikey, I can't keep up these days!

Sounds like everyone's going well, which is good. Tommy, yay for good run, and Chris, glad Jackson's back and ok! Gemma, my foot hurts too - blister on the inside of one of my little toes, hurts like hell! Hope yours feels better now.

I'm a little ashamed, no SOC since Friday last week. Actually, only two runs since then - trying not to over exert myself before the half next weekend. But did do last long run yesterday, 18k after work - last 3 k in massive downpour! By the time it got to a point where I could get to cover I was drenched already, so figured I might as well carry on. And then limped the rest of the way home muttering 'ow ow ow' to myself. And all through class at work today - with three new teachers observing!!! Very professional. Not sure if I can drag another 3k out though, that was really damn hard. Still not good at this running continuously malarkey! Quite pathetic NW too - a couple of little frogs, 1 proper size dog, the tiny tiny chiuauhua in fancy dress as a doberman, a couple of security cyling very sloooooooooooooooooowly along deserted roads, and 1 blown down bit of tree. Car watch was better though - the red smart car had a blue smart car friend And I managed not to see anyone I know, which is good going for running tiny laps again and again.

Good luck to everyone doing Picnic - mentalists, the lot of you!!! Looks like it'll be very pretty at least

Hi everyone!

Haven't been on for a while, various things have conspired to keep me away - friends visiting, OH hogging the computer, internet being soooooooo slooooooooooooow (it seems to hate this forum, takes forever!). That and I've been a bit embarrassed because I've not really managed many SOC's! Got out on Friday morning for a quick interval session - wasn't great, but wasn't as awful as SOC's usually are, which is good. So I'm allowed back now Also quite proud of myself for managing 15k last Sunday without walking, massive first for me! Have the SOC half in two weeks (eek!), hoping I can squeeze out the last 6 without walking too.

Ok, off to catch up on what I've missed. Hope everyone is well, and Ickle, I hope the 10k is good!

Ooh, I like the DEAD watch! Is that a little wrong of me?

Sounds like London's pretty crazy now - how long's he staying for? And good Boris spotting Katie! That must have been quite a sight! Geordie also sounds cuter and cuter!!

It rained today, yay! So it was a bit cooler when I got out (very NOC, sorry). And it was spitting, bliss! It doesn't really spit here, it's usually all or nothing. Had first good session in a good week and a half, a nice interval session (had to keep it short, there was big big lightning going on, and I can't see if my glasses get all rained on).
NW - a very bouncy cat, a couple of small frogs (one of them jumped into the kerb), a few bats.
DW - one squashed frog.

Anyway, best bit, I just got accepted to a masters at UCL, so I can escape back to normal climes in September! Yay! I'm hoping the year of humidity training will miraculously transform me into, well, someone not slow. I can hope! I will miss the geckos though

Have a good day everyone!

My Granddad used to say by eckerslike. I've slipped it in a few times to make my Londoner boyfriend giggle too. A few as ee eckerlike's too.

Anyway, Gwyn, although I have no advice to offer past do what you think is the right thing for you, I hope that you do make a decision you're happy with, and I really hope you can enjoy running at some point in teh future. Good luck!

Aww, Geordie is so cute!!! I want a puppy (or at least a gecko)! Sounds like everyone's had an exciting week. Sadly, no politicians have made it round my way - although, admittedly, it would be rather odd if they had done! We had the Ozzie foreign minister at work a few weeks ago (I work at an ozzie uni that has a campus here), but I didn't see him. Fairly pathetic run week all round - only managed 7k on Sunday, but that probably was sue to lying on the couch watching telly all day (got Downton Abbey off a friend, watched most of it in one go. Ooops). And it's ridiculously hot at the moment. I need the rainy season to start, or I'll melt, and will only be able to run at midnight. Gahh!!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend

Currently do about 15-18k a week. Is a half marathon in late June feasible?
