Umm you are absolutely right, and I apologise mate. I guess that reading both Zanzinger's and your posts almost in succession, I asumed that this was evolving into a lets bash the noob thread... Should not have jumped to conclussions so early. Regards, David |

Jeeeeesus! What is this, the Spanish inquisition? Went for too many miles in the second week, run a quite steep race previous week, I feel quite tired and gut feeling says to take easy for this week. Apologies for asking everyone! |

danowat, if you read my original post: "and today I ended up running 17 miles instead of 13 because I got lost!". Basically, my intention was to do 13-14 miles, but I ended up going astray and I added 3 more miles by mistake. I guess I could have stopped and walk though... Gaz, thanks a bunch, really looking forward to what is going to be my first Half!!!! |

p$ Zan, I agree with you in the sense that I misused words> what I actually meant is that, being a n00b, I am trying to adhere to my schedule to the letter in order to ensure a relatively smooth Half Marathon. So given that for two weeks I have (in my opinion) put more miles and intensity than what is suggested in my schedule, I was a bit unsure about how this could affect my fitness and/or performance. I guess that I have read far too many stories of people who train with too eagerness and end up burnt! |
