If you are going to be mostly vegan, then you need to do a couple of things to help yourself

1) Have more legumes i.e. one legume based meal per day - which will address your protein issues too

2) Make sure if you have soy/rice/oat milk it is calcium fortified. Quick glance says you are a bit short on calcium

I doubt that protein shakes would help you.  You are getting approximately 1.1g/kg protein, and we usually estimate protein requirements for people under metabolic stress (read sick in hospital) at 1g/kg, so you are more than covering your needs.

Shelly, B12 deficiency leads to anaemia, anaemia can give you the most awful cramps!

One of my patients who was deficient used to call her B12 shots "rocket shots" because she felt so terrific after them for the first year or so until her levels normalised and didn't drop below range between shots.

Hope you benefit in similar ways!

Ring the specialist at the hospital and get advice. I am assuming you will be followed up for checks.

Also, if you are on warfarin, you will be getting your IRN checked regularly - ask the INR nurse to find out for you.

Until you get medical clearance don't exerise - because with warfarin on board if your blood thins too much you could end up with other problems.

So get advice first, and good luck

Hun, I am also 5'5" and I lost my periods the one time I got down below 9 1/2 stone. I usually float around 10 1/2 stone.

In part it will be to do with percentage body fat - and at a BMI of 19 and fit you are likely to be below mensturating body fat percentage.

Oral contrceptives do make a difference with conserving bone mass, but you could also see a dietitian for a proper dietary assessment to make sure  your eating loads is actually, well loads!
