Smiffie- I briefly saw you at the start at Silverstone. I was hoping for a sub 1-35 but the wind got the better of me over the last mile and finished in 1-35-20ish.. Son-of-Molly did beat me!!
Good luck to all marathoners- not me any more. i have 5ks and 10ks in May and i dont know how to train for shorer races and nothing else!! next half is September. Hope Edin is better conditions than last year. Best all take your own water.
Take care all.
PS watch out for 'Duckinator' on forums - these kids are a menace!!
Hi all- 'Mother Duck' here!! I enjoyed the race- even the quiet parts as I was just trying to take in all the circuit etc. I was 1-27 and 12 miles and totally lost it into the wind over the final mile and finished 1-35-20ish
Re the splits that were initially available. Mine seemed Ok apart from the 10k time which was far too fast . I was wondering whether splits were initially available (however inaccurate) so that the organisers could verify that all finishers and completed the whole route ie- no cheaters.
Thanks for that info. Should be an Ok route but probably windy . Not sure whather son will do it as only 3 days after Silverstone . He doesnt actually run with the uni club as prefers to do his own thing as and when he wants. The event sounds like the 3K Friday lunchtime events in Aberdeen. 1st friday of each month, then i think something simliar weekday evenings over the summer.
