I`ve just purchased a garmin forerunner 10 and am pleased with it apart from the virtual pacer which you only seem to be able to set at 5 sec intervals..eg if i wanted to set it at 8.33 per mile i would have to either set it at 8.30 or 8.35..or am i doing something wrong
Richard one of the best ways to get to and from the start/ finish line is if poss stay in North Shields. Jump on the metro at 8.30 and it will give you plenty of time to get to the start...then at the finish walk to the ferry (buy the ticket before hand and you can sometimes jump some of the waiting passengers) when you get to the ferry it looks like you will be waiting ages but its nothing compared to the wait and squashed up metro ride back into Newcastle..then a 5 min ride across the river on the ferry and then either walk or take a taxi back to your hotel. Trust me it saves hours sometimes.
Im running with my daughter Holly and husband Tom..we are running for SANDS the Stillbirth and Neaonatel Death Charity and wondered if anyone else is running for them. Holly and myself have run it about 5 times but it`s Tomes first GNR.
Im doing Lincoln 10k as well Jack...The Grantham cup course is mostly a nice flat off road run but with this one hill....first 100mtrs/200mtes of the hill is a gentle (ish) slope but the last 50 mtr are a killer (well for me anyway) but at least its only one hill everywhere else on the course is flat.
