Viggy that must have been one fast race....it looks like the 'last runner' vehicle was following you!!!

So who else is doing VLM, I can see LJ is and what times (other than sub 3!!) are you after?

I am asking as the whole pacing bit is the one part that worries me.  I 'nibbled' five and a quarter minutes off of my HM PB in November (now 80:42) which is what is giving me some confidence about aiming for a sub 3.  Problem is EVERYONE without exception says don't be tempted to go off too fast, yep I get it......but what IS too fast?

Afternoon all,

I have just spent too long trying to catch up on recent postings to this thread.  I am in a similar position to ES in that I am a marathon virgin having not run beyond HM on the road before.  I'm interested in seeing what other people do to go under 3 hours although from reading the postings there are some seriously quick people here.

Anyway....permission to come aboard?

This is my sixth or seventh but do i really look that old in the photos??  More to the point which b*gger said I'm 56???  I am a vet next year granted but 56 you cheeky sh*t!

Hmmmm may have touched a nerve there me thinks.....so to steal a line from City Slickers "I hate you more.  If hate were people, I'd be China"

Well it was clearly a good day for all then as I PB'd also by over five minutes?!?!  I was after about a 84 but got 80:42 so well happy.....actually gobsmacked is more like it

Any impromptu toilet breaks then??
