hi mate. I am thinking of doing this, but i havent covered this distance for years so if i do it , it will be plod. Its very nice and scenic around there as i have been round it on my bike. Have a go and see how you get on.

I apologise for hijacking your thread but I think i am suffering a similar injury. I first felt pain in the upper hamstring / lower glute area and behind the knee almost, if you can imagine, as the muscle body blends into the tendon.
The weeks rest has solved the upper ham / glute issue, but as you did, i went out last night and after the 1st mile the posterior knee issue came back. I stopped and stretched, and it helped for a few minutes, but bythe time it came on again, i was half way round so slowed and just planned to get home.
Does anyone has a diagnosis, and or rehab methods / techniques? Will i be ok swimming and cycling to get the blood pumping and aid recovery?
