Good luck to the weekend racers, Barry / O&O / KR. O&O - Just consider it a taper week

Did the 'Woolton Hills' with group 1 at the club on Thursday. It was 8.4 miles constantly up and down the hills in an area of Liverpool. It was quite hard work but I did notice I was at the back on the first one and much nearer the front on the last, which is probably something to do with the fact this thread has taught me to run everything by starting conservatively and finishing fast...good for the confidence. Average pace was 7:41.

I still want your trainers, Ant

Talking of which, someone asked how many pairs of trainers we all had. I've got 2: a pair of saucony grid somethings (pretty dull looking) and a pair of Nike Lunarglides (I think!). They're the orange-soled things that feel like you're running on marshmallows but still manage to have an annoying 'slappy' feeling.

Gul / MsE / SJ - I did that to something my boss gave me once but I added "See me!" in the margin Along the same lines, I hate that American expression "My bad" when really they appear to mean "My mistake".

MsE - Looks like you're enjoying yourself on the FB photos!

Good luck RJ. Sounds like a manic exciting time ahead for you.

A good idea to take some time off, Keir. No point in running yourself into the ground. Hope you feel better soon.

Excellent session, KR. Were you the only one who could still see the jacket?

I skipped the club session last night. Girlfriend had a last minute meeting at work so I had no transport, which would have meant running 3 miles to the club, doing an interval session, and running 3 miles back which I thought wasn't sensible at this stage. Had sardines marinated in chilli, lemon, garlic and olive oil instead.

You've talked yourself right into it in just 1 paragraph there, SBD

A bit of both, Fraser. You never know what you'll be faced with on a Saturday afternoon. Properly refereed etc but they just deal with the aftermath of a challenge. One of theirs was sent off in the 85th minute for wildly wellying willynilly. I agree it doesn't fit with running but I agreed to play when I wasn't running so won't renege on it now.
