Hi all,

Great to see you all still here!

I'm still laid up with PF, can you effin beleive it?!?! 11 weeks without running!!

I am feeling a mixture of  and .... actually mostly

I've tried everything now, even bloody acupuncture would you beleive. But it's still hurting.

Supposed to be running the Berlin Marathon in September but that's looking very unlikely now. Signed up for Bton next year and applied for London and was even thinking about doing both if I get a LDN place. But who knows now....

Tried a little test jog a few weeks ago to see if there was any improvement but A) I had to stop after 2 miles with pain in foot B) I was knackered after 2 miles anyway. Can you beleive it  One week you're running 50 miles a week, banging out 10-13-20 mile training runs week after week. Then 12 weeks later you can't jog 2!

Well, nothing more I can do but keep resting I suppose. I joined a gym and am doing cross training, cycling and swimming but it's not the same. Not even close.

Hey ho. worse things happen at sea.

Hope you're all doing well. Enjoy the summer

BR

Spenny, what minute miling do you run at? I run past the dog stadium quite often so if we are a similar pace then maybe we should keep each other company once in a while.

Does anyone else on here live in Hove? I always see hundreds of runners when I'm out and I often wonder if any of the people I see are on this forum.

Spenny, where abouts in Hove (roughly)?. If you go up to the top of Dyke Road and cross the roundabout out towards the Dyke, there's a good route along the downs out to Steyning apparently.

You should have a look at the Jog Shop 20 in October too. That's all off road and you'll be able to extrapolate some good routes from that.

Personally I like running along the beach. Karats to Rottingdean and back is my favourite. You get a bit of everything that way. Especially with so much eye candy about this time of year

Of course Doh!... I meant 2011, I mean 2012.....Oh you know what I mean

I mean I hope they don't write to me in October this year and say you've got a place in NY this year, you fly in 3 weeks so get packing. lol

Mind you, that would be quite exciting wouldn't it  Suddently the £36 bit is sounding like a better investment.

So I have paid £50 something for Brighton, £36 for London, and if I get in I'll pay another £36. I'm £120 odd quid out of pocket for the privelage of running myself into the ground. for the third year in a row. And to think I said after the first one "never again"

Yeah I thought the 1000 extra places was a good bet. Mind you, £36 is an expensive lottery ticket

Hmmm, kind of wish I hadn't done that now. If I don't get in then I've wasted £36 on a fleece I won't have the cheek to wear

I'd love to do NY, but I presume the NY place is for 2013? They're not gonna tell me in October this year that I've won a place in 2012? It's in November isn't it? I'd better get training just in case lol
