Picked up an achillies injury last month due to a dog walker letting his dog walk right in front of me while gunning for a pb at park run. Obviously I tried to stop and think the sudden stop may have pulled or slightly torn the tendon but I got up and carried on pain free. It was the next day that it was swollen. the swelling went down and I run again but was still swelling a bit so I have now not run for 3 weeks. Where I am now is no pain at all when stretching, walking, running and the swelling has gone but all I have left is a very small nodule on then tendon I guess this is scar tissue. If I do calf raises it dont hurt, so the question is can I run? Or should I? Or do I wait for the lump to go? Just wondered if anyone else had the same?
Oh well. Glad your on the mend. 4 weeks! Ouch. Thanks for the info. I'm only guessing its a groin strain. Feels it tight in the top of the inner thigh when walking up stairs but only mild. And feels a little week to walk on as well. It felt a bit sore before I ran a half marathon on Sunday but when I run I didn't hurt at all. Only the next day feeling weak again.
