Glad to see that there are more runners from the UK joining in. It’s my first marathon so I was a bit peeved that I’d have to buy the t-shirt on top of the entry fee. I’m still having a dilemma about my target marathon time. I ran a half marathon PB on Sunday of 1:46 and the RW race calculator predicts a 3:41 marathon …a little ambitious for my first attempt so I’ll be looking for a 4:15 finish although I’ll just be happy to finish!
Sorry to hear about your knee woes! You’ve got a great team behind you (and forum supporters) who will hopefully get you on the start line in Paris.
I panicked at the start of my training when I started to get pains on the side of my knee after a short run and it became so unbearable I couldn’t manage a jog. I booked myself in to see a physio to get a proper diagnosis and was told I had ‘runner’s knee’. I had a massage and stuck to swimming and the cross-trainer for a full week and eased myself back with 2 mins run, 1 min walk. Although I had some initial niggles I was amazed and how much a full week off running helped. I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be but I’m sending your knee some positive vibes!
I've not checked in for a while but I've got a big weekend planned. Finally getting my 50th parkrun on Saturday and I'm doing the Llanelli half on Sunday. I managed to shave 10 seconds off my parkrun PB last week and I'm now at 22:14 and hoping I can beat my half PB of 1:49. Our times started out fairly even stevens at the start of training but you seem to be flying!
