I entered this yesterday after bribing my dad into taking me (not driving is a pain when it comes to choosing races!). Really excited for it. Think I'll have to get the train to the expo on Saturday. Never been to one before. The races I've done previously usually post the number out or you collect on the day.

I'm currently doing an Access course and one of my units is writing for magazines. I chose Runner's World as my magazine and my final assignment is an interview piece. I want to interview 3 parents (mums or dads) on how they fit in working, taking care of the kids and general household stuff while training for a marathon. I ran a half marathon in October and found it difficult to fit in running around my three year old so I can't imagine training for the full 26.2 miles!

This is for college only and I'd really appreicate your help. I'm looking at getting a distinction grade for this unit and I'm really enjoying writing about running! I'll be doing email interviews - I'll send you an email with questions and you reply - within the next week as it's due pretty soon.

Well I did it. Ran for 7 miles then just had to stop and walk. My legs got really stiff really fast (I'm always cold anyway so today was a nightmare). Managed to jog/walk the rest of the way with a friend a made around mile 10. Thought I was going to give up at mile 9. I cried at that point actually, lol. Unoffical time is something like 2 hours 59 minutes. I was aiming for 2 1/2 hours but after walking at mile 7, I knew I had no chance. I had the best bath ever when I got home! I don't even like baths but this was greatly needed.

Already planning my next half - Liverpool in March. Need to train a lot harder than I did this time. I'd still like 2 and a half hours.
