i was all ready to do the London marathon this year and 3 weeks before fell down the stairs and badly sprained my ankle
i was on crutches for a week and very quickly realised I'd have to defer my place to next year
well how little did I realise how much damage I had done, it's now 6 months and im still suffering pain from time to time especially when my ankle clicks, which it does now regularly.
Question is When do I know I can start training again properly, I'm not a small guy so my weight is not helping but the last thing I want to do is put myself back another 3 months. I have been out for some short plods without too much problem but I'm thinking will further running strengthen or screw up my ankle?
I said goodbye to this years VLM 3 weeks ago when fell down the stairs and twisted my ankle. The words that came out my mouth are not repeatable here. The tray of crockery that I was carrying was amazingly unscathed unlike myself
As I said that was 3 weeks ago and within a few hours I realised I would have to defer my place for this year, what I didnt realise 3 weeks later that it would still be annoying me as much if not more
I can walk around without too much difficulty but before when I was on crutches if I put my foot up and rested it the pain would go and that blis feeling of relief would come
Not any more, It just aches all the time now, its definitely getting better each day but this aching is driving me up the wall, even pain killers dont touch it
