Just a little concerned too! I have signed up for the WC100 and the NC100 2014... I have emailed Active Online in the hope they can help refund but I am not holding out. Pretty crappy thing to do when it not that difficult to just refund the few already paid...
I have just started barefoot training as insoles didnt seem to help my runners knee and ITB problem. Its early days but so far Im adapting well and my foot strike, running gait completely changed, I have less noticeably pain on my knee so invested in Vibram bikila running shoe which is due out shortly this month.
I have tried to vary where possible from smooth pavement to grass but hope the Vibrams will help me to train back to my marathon days
Be cautious people of buying online Vibram as not many websites sell the original product at a discounted price, if its really cheap be careful, after investigating I found out that 175 websites are FAKE and use different materials on the shoes, a yellow octagon vibram symbol on the bottom is likely to mean its genuine.
I will be keeping up my barefoot training and really hope I can run my next marathon in sep with Vibram five fingers on my feet, better still barefoot! or perhaps with duck tape on my soles.....:0
I have been using the bike since my marathon to ease off my knees and injuries, I have only run 3times since as my legs took a good 3weeks to recover. Im only doing 4-5miles when out at the moment.
I really miss my running but the bike training has been fun sofar, I have biked from Horsham to Brighton on numerous occasions and went the Ditchling Beacon way today...Oh my steep hill but still enjoyed even with my luggage on the back lol. Ok I think I may be fitter than I thought !!!
I have the Canterbury Half 23rd so am hoping can try 8-10miles this weekend to test my legs, I also have 10k race in Lindfield bank hol just because I never done a short faster race but hope its not crowded like some of u guys experience...
Hope you all doing well with recovering and training for the next race, or whatever that may be
