Hi there. I have been training for the Loch Ness Marathon which I ran last year. 3 weeks ago I ran a 16.5 mile run comfortable, then 2 days later took part in a local 10K. Halfway throught the run I developed an excrucitating pain outside and above my left knee and had to hobble home. Unable to run for a week then tried again gently but unable to run - very painful and leg not 'working properly'. Have rested it again for last week with neoprene band on, taking anti-inflammatories, stretching and using foam roller. Still feels a wee bit dodgy but better. Whe and how do I start running again. Will be VERY depressed if I have to pull out of LNM. Never had ITBS before but have a history of PF and definately have weak glutes. Any advice most appreciated. Cheers.
What do you guys eat before an early morning run? Am full time the next few weeks so will have to change to a pre-work run, but know I cant run on an empty stomach, but dont want to get a stitch from anything too heavy. What is tried and tested??
