Hey all! I'm a first timer too; two half marathons and nothing further, got my charity place and now reality is dawning. I am equal parts excited and terrified, I think! I hadn't thought about room bookings - better get on that I think. I'm in Leeds too, it seems there's a lot of novice northerners!

My main priority is - don't get injured, do finish.....! I'm sure we'll all be fine, one step at a time....

I've had four weeks off training for my first half marathon with a chest infection - first time out this morning, limped round a 3 mile course far slower than I'm used to!

8 weeks til race day.

Before getting ill was up to 9 miles on a long run, and doing one tempo, one threshhold per week as well.

My question is, if I now up to four runs per week, two cross training sessions, and 1 rest day - is it feasible to get back up to fitness in time? Plan A was a time of 2 hrs 10 mins..
