Gee NE, rough luck. Hope the next few runs are drama-free.
Nice LT Spoons, I understand the enjoying bit. I had 10 with 6 @ LT tonight and enjoyed it. Far better than last week, maintained then increased the pace. Only blip was the final lurch up the 4km hill, but then smashed it back down (for me). I'm seeing good results from P&D - my 5M time on a Tuesday has come down by 7mins, despite now doing a 4.5M 'warmup' before the session.
I found tonight warm and I'm in the North.. maybe I'm just becoming a true northerner. I'll be wearing short shorts soon.
Fantastic HM's Madbee, Ramjet, ML, Muddy (forgive me if I forget any other names, it's a page back now!)
OH and I eat lower carbs as a general rule. He lost loads of weight sticking to the diet in the first year or so, I couldn't when Ironman training (kept bonking, couldn't get enough calories), but am back to eating less carbs again now. I have porridge for breakfast but otherwise mostly low to no carbs for other meals. It works for us, and if nothing else we eat far more veg than before. Am actively trying to drop a few kg for this marathon, going ok so far but it's about now that I usually crack and buy a bag or 5 of sweets or crisps.
18M LSR for me this week, along a very muddy thames path. Sucked the energy from my legs so I found it quite hard. You can see on strava the only bits of the path that weren't muddy by increase in pace by about 1/2mins per mile. Followed by 8 miles Sunday, supposed to be less and recovery but was a catch-up with a friend and was distracted. Rest today, legs very tired.
John, that sounds awful. When it gets to that extreme I remember why I like British weather so much, thank you! I'm a secret Tasmanian, most people don't realise because I've adopted the smooth tones of a British accent over the years.
Well done getting up at 4 this morning Tom, I suffered enough on my walk to work.
Rest day for me too - Legs are tired after my 'LT' last night. I was a little over excited trying to keep up with the fast guys, so instead of what should have been 8:15ish I had 7:21, 7:56, 8:08, then 8:44 and 9:58 when a stitch struck. Oops.
