Hi,

After 2.5 years of not being able to run far or as often as I'd like, been to numerous physio's, had a PT look at my running style, had sports massages, been under MATS, a professor, had MRI and xrays, I've now ended up at the running school.

Just had my first session and learned SO much from that and watching my video.  I'll let you know how I get on and whether I will finally be able to start running pain free!

aw thank you soo much for all of your replies. They have made me feel so much better and a lot less freaky haha!

If any of you are on facebook please feel free to add me (fairey fluffkins) or Twitter (faireyfluff).

Be great for us all to encourage each other, especially those of you that are around the same level as me.

Lisa - Nottingham is a bit far for me (I am in Bristol) but maybe we could meet up and done on the middle?

Thanks everyone

Hiya,

Thank you all for your encouragement and advice - it's really encouraging and helpful.

I am in Bristol but have entered Run to the Beat in London.

I guess I feel a litte bit under pressure because as already mentioned, my best friend is running the London marathon and the group of people I am running with are all very experienced runners.

It's good to hear that you all think it's do-able cos I was beginning to wonder! lol!!

The Bristol 10K is at the beginning of May - just a few weeks away - do you think I would be putting too much pressure on myself to enter it?

Hi everybody,

I am fairly new to running - been doing it for just over 6 months now.  I try to run three times a week and range average around 3/4 miles per run.  My furthest run to date is 5 miles so I really am just a baby runner.

Anywayz, thought it was time to up my game a tad and with encouragement from my mate who is running the London Marathon this year, I have entered myself into a half marathon in September

I am panicking abit but it's do-able right?! lol

I have myself a training plan and am gonna do my best and hopefully enter a 10k in July too for the practise/experience.

Have any of you ever done nothing to half marathon like this?  How did you find it?  Please tell me I'm not clinically insane!

Claire

xx
