I ran this last year and thought it was really well organised. I travelled from Berkshire and had no problems finding parking (free carpark pass with race pack) and thought the race village was nicely laid out. Route is flat as a pancake but there's not a great deal to see on the way round (lots of estates) but support was pretty good and I think it's a good PB course. I'd run it again if it wasn't so far away!
This year - 1:32 half to a 4:05 mara. Followed a training plan and stuck to it. All marathon paced training runs went well etc but seemed to be going down with a cold in the days leading up to Sunday (VLM), which then completely floored me on Monday. Have been living off lemsip since!
Well this morning I have woken up and I have a completely blocked nose, aching sinuses and a cough. That would probably explain the breathing issues I was having yesterday then So glad I have today off work! Looks like the heat caught everyone by surprise! I was expecting rain.
Hey guys - your support during my slight breakdown at mile 17 was wonderful. I dont really know what went wrong, but i still managed to finish. No sure if I would have carried on if it wasn't for your kind words and hugs. Definitely think im a better supporter than runner! Will Hopefully be on the other side of the fence next year!
Aw - expo done. Pasta lunch done. Pasta dinner planned and feet up! No pain - I understand your disappointment and fustration as a similar thing happened to me last year. Stay positive! Everyone else eeck! See you tomorrow!!!!
