My mate is new to Tri and wants a bike through the bike to work scheme. i'm not sure what to advise - my bike purchasing has been flawed to say the least! (I bought a Raleigh R100on the strength of a low price tag. Big mistake. I'd now prob choose a Specialised Allez or Giant OCR). Anyway he writes:

We've got a cycle to work scheme being set up and I am probably going to take part.  Got to choose a bike for it.  I'd like to get something with a list price of around £500-£600 but which I can also use for triathlons etc.  It's got to be sourced through Halfords so there's no point in looking for great discounts.  Got any suggestions?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Jc

ps Not confident about Halfords Carrera range at all.

Hell!
How sickening is this? And there was i rooting for Vini cos i thought Rassmussen was bringing the sport into disrepute.

At least in the armstrong yrs there was something to the TdF other than doping (remember 98 Festina - how could we forget)

Hi guys
Thanks trickster and Plum for your efforts. I'm off to order my copy now.
Ally. Hi didn't we exchange emails just before we came to NZ. Seem to have forgotten in all the chaos of moving. No IM I'm afraid I've un-trained down to sprint tri level but did manage a 20k fell run as part of The Beast duathlon (20k/66k/3k) which is another story.
cheers

Hi

Not sure if anyone knows the answer! We've recently moved to NZ and I wrote a letter to 220 to say thanks really to the tri community in uk.

Thing is no-one at 220 let me know that they published it. We found out by accident through the grapevine it is in a recent back copy- maybe 1-3 months back (?) If anyone knows the issue number so I can order a back copy that would be great.

Enjoy your race season - ours is just finished (tho' plenty of winter MTB running stuff etc!)

Cheers all.

Anyone any advice for sufferers of lower back pain, living abroad? how easy is it to get a decent physio in europe..say for ex Athens.
I know someone living there - i thought i'd start a thread that may provide some help.
