Hey guys, the Travelodge next to Preston Park is now taking online bookings from 4th April. From midnight tonight (Wednesday) it will be from 5th April. The prices are still REALLY good so get in quick if you want a stress free start to your marathon day. I've just booked a double room for friday, saturday and sunday nights for a total of £79. The other Travelodge at the seafront will also be taking bookings now and the prices will be similar. For now! |

You will be relieved to hear that I picked up my medication today. Brighton marathon, Brighton half, Great South Run. All three to pay out for! Will stagger as much as I can (much like my running style). I haven't taken my medication yet. |

mrsoatham i have been reading snippets of all sorts on marathon training and the conflicting advice is amazing ...ive read to run long slow runs slow and also not to do them slow as running slow encourages slow running....i think im going to try and take a bit of a few ingrediants and mix them together for my marathon cake.....i do like the 2 week cycle though as someone already commented its better than squeezing everything into a week... I too prefer cooler weather to in ...i get hot very quickly 2 week cycle? That wouldn't be for me, for a start I don't have a bike. Sorry |

On reflection it would be daft to miss out on doing this marathon for the sake of £10 or even £20. So before the 17th May I shall sign up at £60. Was a bit of a shock to see the price but I don't know what it costs for London now. My last marathon was in 2001 when it would have been cheaper. Given all the road closures etc and all the organisation (which is very good) plus the feel good factor of finishing, the entry fee is a bargain . £30 for the Brighton Half?! Ooo-eeer! Half the distance, half the price. Simples! |
