Toby and Poohbear bought me a lovely Christmas present that I got early to help with the training that I'm been meaning to squee over on here for the last week. I finally have my own garmin.
It's surprising how much it makes me want to go out the door and get the runs in even when I'm knackered from work. I think pushing myself against the clock is the challenge I needed to get myself in gear. I'm not even having to bribe myself with chocolate any more.
Quite pleased with my time today too. Managed around 12:30min/miles for the entire run. It's not the 11min/mile I'm looking for, but considering I ran Brighton at 16min/miles I'm feeling quite pleased with myself.
Toby: Gunna do my 14 on Thurs when I'm off and get the 4 in before work Fri and the 5 after work on Sat or Sun
Tillstar: On the weightwatchers. I'm finding losing the weight easier on that then trying to do it alone. And thanks
Yvone: It was nice to meet you again Glad you enjoyed it
I have a lot to report since I was last here. Have lost three stone now on the Weight Watchers plan, was 13stone 8lbs when I ran Brighton, now only 10stone 3.5lbs J That means I’ve achieved the weight goal that I set myself after the last Brighton Marathon.
The second half of that goal, the two hours off of my 7hours 10mins, seems more doable now, especially after my first long run of the training plan (which started today) was a 10 miler that I managed in 2hours 5mins. A huge improvement over the time it took me to do the same distance this time last year.
Running is so much easier now I’m not carrying that much extra weight and I feel so much healthier for it. And the beauty is I haven’t cut anything out of my diet either, just using the diet or healthier options.
Anyway, well done to everyone for all their new PB’s and it’s good to be back.
