Biker - No rower, bike or x-trainer just some home made weights and I have made a skipping rope. Unfortunately I did not know how lacking in excercise gear the ship was untill I arrived on board.
Parkrun- defering is not an option as I have raised nearly 2k so far for charity and I have no intention of letting down my supporters and my charity. So it is a big deal, I did ask for helpful advice
I have been in training for VLM and was aiming for a time of just under 4 hours. I think I was just about on course, I completed the central lancs new year 1/2 in 2:00:08 and did a 30k on the road (pretty flat) in 2:53:28 two weeks ago. I am a little ahead of the schedule I have been working to but now the disaster. I work at sea and the ship I am on from now until a week before VLM has no running machine. There is not even a small loop I can run, the best running space is a 40m long horseshoe but that involves slowing down and turning around every 40m and swerving past a couple of obstacles each time. I am pretty much resigned to missing my target but is there anything I can do to improve my chances of getting as close as possible?
Great way to work off the excesses of the festive period, 1st ever 1/2. Thanks to all the organisers, marshalls etc. Any pictures up anywhere? Saw a photographer on the finish line, local rag??
