Hi, just read through this and you have pretty much described me, apart from the just turned 30 bit and weight lifting....(I don't turn 30 until February and don't lift weights, yet I should)
I ran quite a few half marathons a few years ago, but changing jobs, and becoming more lazy, I've been too off/on the last few years and my fitness levels have gone down to a low, and the past two weeks I've been in Florida (disney) and living on fast food, so although I have ran a fair few times, I still dread to know how much weight I've put on.
Anyhow, I used to use these forums as a motivation tool, and decided I will stArt using them again to help me. I haven't ever completely given up running, just have done it more so this last year for the dogs benefit then mine. I am going to sign up for a half marathon, I would like to do Reading again, but would also like to do one that I can run with one of my dogs (have to get used to running on lead)
These past two weeks I've run 2 days followed by 1 day off, I've only managed to do 3 miles each, but it's been so hot, and I've walked around the parks every day.
Anyhow, I have used a few training plans in the past, the ones you create in here are good, but I've also used nike+ and garmin, let us know what one you choose.
Hi, hope you don't mind me joining in here. I used to use these forums a fair bit a few years ago and gave me a lot of motivation and the title seemed to be where I am at the moment.
To cut a long story short, I have been a bit lazy in not only my posts on here, but my running too, I kept starting for a few weeks, stopping for a few weeks etc, last year I got really into cycling and rarely run at all. This year has been very stop/start but now feel I've gone so far backwards, I may as well start a new, with the aim of getting back to previous fitness (able to run half marathon distance +)
Hi people, thought I would pop in again, it has been a while so forgive me for not being up to date!
I hope you are all well and injury free etc.
Recently my running has been very off and on, not out of choice, I just have been pretty busy the last 3 or so months, but will hopfully be able to get back on track real soon! I have still ran when I've had the chance, but family life and work have been so busy recently Ive struggled to find time to sleep let alone run! so the beer gut is starting to make a slight appearence again (despite me not drinking)
Anyway, hope you are all well, anyone watching the rugby this weekend, enjoy it!
I'm unable to do this years half marathon due to other commitments, so have a spare place, gutted as its my fav race, anyhow, I'm pretty sure the race organisers have been ok with swapping in the past, anyway if anyone is interested please get back to me!
