Hello one and all and many congratulations to all you finishers. My target time was sub 3.30 made it home in 3.37.13 (chip time). Like everyone else the heat was a killer an absolute killer. I was doing well all the way to the 20 mile mark and then this Finnish snowman started to burn up. Which brings me on to the next subject: TD's time! What the heck is that about? Well inside the 3hours in that kind of heat. Keeping up the pace after 20miles in those conditions is awe inspiring. Simply awe inspiring. Many congratulations. I was very pleased to put a face to the names of a few of you in the pub and was glad to shake hands very briefly with TD at the arc before kick off. All in all the whole weekend was one amazing experience. |

Good luck to all!!! I got the stomach bug from hell last Sunday, vomitting fever the whole nine yards. At least it emtptied the system. Managed my first training after the illness yesterday and a short run today. Felt a little sloggy but hey ho time to go. Will definiately have a slog at it on Sunday. My TGV to Paris leaves Luxembourg at 15.55. Here's to a great weekend. Where was the meeting up thingy again? Oh yes and one more time. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!! |

Hello all, I am away from the thread for two days and there's enough posts to beat Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. Everyone seems well up for Paris. Great stuff. Spotted this on the BBC website about places to see in Paris. It's a Saturday 26k local race (very hilly) tomorrow and then I start to taper. I sparred for the first time in 15years at the local boxing club. My boxing gloves were older than my sparring partner! Time does fly. |

| I run in normal running shoes outside, but I use Vibram five fingers on the treadmill and that has really done wonders for my running form. No injuries and no serious problems and it has really strengthened my calves. I recommend to try it. |
