I was wondering if anyone on here could help,..... I am in a similar position re shin pain. It started during my first longish run after chester marathon at the top of my right foot and extended upwards throughout my right shin. It got worse once I stopped running and now is agony when I walk.
physio said it could be chronic compartment syndrome but I haven't run for 2 weeks and with regular icing, calf stretches and rollering I would have thought it should have been getting getter by now. I am absolutely distraught both from lack of running and pain....
any ideas would be greatly appreciated
That sounds exactly the same symptons I had when I got my stress fracture, get it checked out asap either by getting an mri scan through your gp or going to a and e and seeing if they'll xray although this may not show the fracture if there is one.
Good luck, hope you're back soon. I guess physios are like like everyone else, some good ones some bad ones or simply make mistakes. I got away without a boot as by the time I'd waited for the scan and was seen in fracture clinic it was healing.
