Thanks CB and RR. I'm willing to take all and any advice on board. I'm keen to do the VLM next year (Ballot or Charity spot) so it makes sense to increase my total miles per week.
Thanks both for the advice and the link. I'll increase my mileage and build in some tempo work and then come back to this forum with progress at a later date.
I realise this is a tough target that will take time, but I'm willing to do it.
I'm keen runner who would like to improve their per mile time by 1 minute.
I'm willing to work hard and put in the training and miles (20+ per week).
My current race distance is half marathon, so my target is to sustain a 7.30 pace over this distance. Currently I'm running at approx 8.30 per mile.
Any advice or pointing me in the right direction for a good training plan to achieve this goal would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading this post.
Was a good one - but hot!!! Where did that come from?
Goldenheart and myself completed it in 2hr 3mins together (his 2nd half, my first). Very proud to say we didn't walk at all - but we are both slightly sunburnt now!
Don't know if this link will work or not, but plotted out this course from an old drawn map on GMAPs. Forgive any inaccuracies.
Hope this helps anyone preparing to do this.
See you there.
5 miles this morning, but i took it very easy as did my first ever Body Pump class at the gym yesterday - feel a bit sore and achey today!
So nice to see the sun shining a bit (before it started to rain), even had to take my jacket off cos i got too hot!
