Thanks Graeme - i am slowing getting my fitness back after severe itb. Fastest group seems to be a match for me. I have had a look on their website and all seems good. I will be down the club once my fitness has improved and back to doing speed/interval training. |

Hi, I have just moved to Erdington,Birmingham and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good running club nearby. I partake in road events as well as XC. Dan |

Hi, My last run was mid Jan and oh boy it was a pianful run due to picking up severe ITB. I have moved county within the last month and i have a doctors appointment later today to request a referal to the physio. Over the last two months i have been using the foam roller, doing stretching exrercises, compression and ice as well as stretching the glutes. 3 months down the line i still experience pain when just trying to walk. The pain shifts from the back of the knee,to the side of the knee,to the qaud and hip.a few days ago i was playing football with my son,ran 3 steps and my leg was severly painful for the rest of the day. My questiions are as follows: - what time frame should i be looking at regarding recovery? - is there anything else i can do to speed up the recovery? I appreciate any help regarding this as i dont go one day without thinking of running and i have been sidelined for almost 3 months now and it is getting me down! Dan |

After a complete run around by the NHS it was finally confirmed that i have ITB. I have not run since 11th January 2013(almost 2 months) and i still have severe discomfort at times. The pains shift from my quad,to my knee,to the back of my knee and the pain is constant when climbng stairs and walking for more than a few minutes. My question is how long,in general/average,is the recovery period? I am so eager to be back training and i understand that patience is vital, but i would like a rough estimate on how long i could be sidelined for. |
