Has anyone received their race number and chip yet?  It said they were being posted  last  Monday and still not got mine.

Travelling down from Shropshire to stay with inlaws, so entering Witham 5 again.  I have done it 4 times now, but think this year will be a personal worst time, so unfit, running like a donkey!!Entered my 18 year old son as well, so our first race together.

On the results it says that last person was in posn 1533, can that be correct as the race entry closed early when 2000 entrants were received.  Were there really 477 no shows? It seems a lot too me.

A PW for me at 1.56.06 , but considering level of fitness, cold snotty nose, excess weight and this was my first race and the furthest I had ran since April last year ( Paris Marathon)  I can accept it for now...

Ot training tomorrow though. Well done all.

Martin J - this was my 13th marathon it took me 4 attempts to get sub 4 hours which I did in Paris in 2003 with 3.47.  My three marathons before that FLM, Dublin, Robin Hood had all ranged between 4.15 and 4.34 hours - I found that for a sub 4 hous some speed work is necessary and some  9 or 10 mile runs during the week where you push a bit harder.   The long week end runs are of course still needed - but to get under 4 hours I think its a lot about mental knowing you are in good condition to run at comfortable pace.

Its taken me 8 years and I still can't get sub 3.30 - best is 3.34 and I also have a PW of 4.54, but once you get under 4 hour mark you seem to think what was the problem and set the bar even higher....

Cannes Man - I can fully empathise with your report - it brought back many memories of marathons where I have cramped and struggled to the end..  Thankfully Paris this year was not one of those.
