I had a great day. After a really disappointing Marathon in October due to illness, everything came together today so I banished the ghost of October 2011.

Sadly, DNF . With hindsight I think that I should have given it a miss given my high temperature and 96 BPM resing HR this morning! Anyway, I decided to go ahead but realised by mile 4 that the wheels were coming off the cart. I dug as deep as I could and managed to last until we came out of the tunnel but that was it, I was spent. I felt so rough during the run that I couldn't even manage any gels or sports drink at all. I think that did for me. Well done to everyone anyway and I wish that I could have joined you all for a pint. |

Woke at 03:30 with stomach cramps, trots, shivering and a temperature of 38.5 degress. The bed's soaking wet I've built up for this since March so I'm not going to give in easily. I'm going to try to do it fueled by a cocktail of immodium, ibuprofen and paracetamol. I fear that it's no longer an attempt to get sub 4 hours though, it's more a case of just trying to get round. Here's hoping... |

Mikey I've got a slight cold. Just take paracetamol Lemsip will possibly limit or affect your heart rate and therefore running speed so stop taking as soon as. FRC, thanks for that. 've never taken Lemsip in tha past and didn't know that it was such a bad thing. Wifey got them for me and I tried it in desperation. The good news (for me!) is that between the dose of lemsip and the couple of doses of immoduim, I seem to be fine. So much so that at about 16:00 I went out for my final 2 mile easy run before tomorow. At 10:00 this morning I wouldn't have believed you if you'd said that I wouldhave doen that. Anyway, good luck to all tomorrow and hopefully see people in Rigbys? Whee! It's almost here! |
