Hi, I am doing my first half marathon in just over 4 weeks. I am up to 9 miles at the moment. I am pondering on whether to actually do the 13 miles before the event or just leave it at 10/11 and then leave the rest to on the day to really feel that sense of achievement on the day. Does anyone have any ideas on what is best?

After doing my first ever 9 miles on Sunday I went out last night thinking of doing 4 or 5 as I am training for Blackpool half marathon, having only ever ran 10K before. I ended up doing 8.5miles. I have seriously amazed myself. I felt absolutely great last night and today my legs are not even tight. I'm at the stage now where I can say "I actually enjoy running!". www.justgiving.com/liz-bowker. hooray to me!

I have entered my first 10K race for this May and was wondering if anyone has any training tips for me. I have been doing 2miles (20mins)on the treadmill twice a week, but i want to start on the road now the nights are getting lighter. Any tips?
