Point taken but there is a difference between doing it for fun and half killing yourself. Like anything else if your not prepared your risk of not finishing, injury or worse increasing greatly (IMHO).
Had a look at your Stratford results. Very impressed. Great 5km time at the end of it all too.
We would be very evenly matched, I feel a race coming on...just for fun you understand!
Like you I can do 400 in 8 minutes. Unfortunately didn't realise this at Harlech until was too late and ended up nearly being last across the line. If I had known I would have slipped in early.
I was down to do Stratford but pulled out at the last minute due to poor training in the run up due to starting a new job.
Suffering a "motivational" problems at the moment!! I wonder is it ever alraight just to take 2 weeks out?
I started training for a Tri in January this year at 6' 5" and the best part of 20 stone. Completed the Harlech Triathlon on April 13th this year 13 weeks later.
I think its great that you are encouraging your sister and with her swimming base she's miles ahead of most novice triathletes!
Repeating one bit of advice on this thread already, make sure her footware is sorted. It can be v.v.tough on the feet, shins and knees and I suffered alot until my Brookes Beasts!! took control. Havn't looked back since. (no weigh 16 stone something too!!)
Hi Twinkle, I used a MP3 player for a couple of months, but I don't use it any more. The player was the size of a lighter and no moving parts. Get a good 2+ albums on one 64mb card.
