Hansyhobs I put off joining a running club for that very reason and now wish I'd joined earlier. If you are concerned e-mail the club, tell them what distances you are running now and the pace you are running and I'm sure they will reasure you that that is fine for joining.
sorry I haven't posted for a long time, time keeps slipping away and before I realise it it's been months since last posting. Running has been going well to summerise:
beat my 10k PB time at the Tenby 10k: 47.59
beat my 5k PB time at Llanelli 5k: 22.42
I've joined up with a local running club Port Talbot Harriers and it is bringing my running along in leaps and bounds. Two races coming up in the next month or two; Swansea Bay 10k and the Cardiff Half Marathon and of course i'm keeping my fingers crossed for the ballot for the VLM.
I'll try and catch up with everyones posts over then next few days.
MM - Don't get discouraged, that's still a great time and we all have off days where it just doesn't happen for us. I'm in the ballot fo rthe VLM too, can't wait for October to see if i'm in.
Carpathius - much respect with that swim, i've toyed with the idea of a triathalon but my visit to the swimming pool (or drowning pool as it should more aptly be named) last weekend showed me how bad i am at swimming and how much work i'd have to do to even attempt it.
Rob - thats sounds a fun race, how did you feel about the shortening?, I think I would be peaved if they shortened a course i was running on the day (specially if i was on for a PB).
