I wish my current orthotics said "normal" or "sports" on the reverse. Thanks for the tips on Boots, I will drop in and see what colours they offer.

Hi all,

I was hoping someone could give me a bit of advice on Vasyli orthotics. I got a pair from the physio around a year ago, and I want to buy another pair - except that Amazon now sells them as "red" and "blue" versions, whereas mine are a tan colour, blue on the reverse. Anybody have experience with buying these orthotics?

I am flat-footed,an over-pronator and need to lose weight. I have taken up running 2-3 miles per week and walking 4-5 miles per week in the last year. The red one's provide more support than the blue ones, but I am not sure if I need the extra support of the  red insoles. Another visit to the physio is going to cost me £50 plus £40 for the insoles themselves.

Any advice would  be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Zara

Hi Julia

" The race for life is a great place to start, i've done several. Some advice though, if you plan to run the whole way push your way right through to the front, as near as you can get. They line you up into runners and walkers but you can guarantee most of the 'runners' will be walking by the first corner. Also, don't read the signs on peoples backs, they will have you sobbing! Well done for getting back to your pre-christmas weight

Thanks for the tips! I will keep them in mind! And won't read the signs on people's backs! I have a friend who is doing a 5K (BHF), then the 10K(RaceforLife) and then running with me on Sunday for the 5K - I am hoping that with the two races in the week she will be tired enough to run at my pace on Sunday.

Hi Everyone

For those who remember me from a loooong looooong time ago - I'm back (for better or worse!)

If you don't remember me by name, you may remember me for my very (un)cool smileys

http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-cute-smileys-271.gif

Having been off the running schedule due to weather, laziness, etc for the best part of two months, I have now gotten back into my nice little routine of running and yoga, and lost the weight I put on over Christmas.....and been brave enough to enter my first 5K this summer (Race for life)

I am now going to spend the next couple of hours quiet happily browsing back through the forum pages seeing what everyone has been up to - this is a wonderful place to get some free extra motivatin to keep me on target for my weight loss.

I agree with you Toby - I don't mind the snow as long as I can stay indoors and not negotiate the ice! Really frustrated by not being able to go for a run for nearly a week now, just when I was getting into a rythm - reluctant to weight myself, and I am sure it has done my weight no good! Walking (for exercise)  just dosen't feel the same.

Puffin - "ice-running" feet? Is that just great body balance?
