Om Die Dam done, a quick trip to jo'burg for 2 nights and finished in 4.39; finished strong too so I was pleased with that.
I just entered Shakespeare, at the end of April I think so hoping Becca hasnt run it already?
Stig: Running in Luanda can be fun; can only run along the beach in the day time for security reasons; so have to lap the Marginal at night. I do hill repeats (with some other runners) up to the fort; much to the amusement of the army who patrol that area. For long runs we go out of town into the country where there are hills and its a lot quieter/safer; but we have to get permission every week and have drivers stop every 5 kms to make sure we are ok (and to give us water as its very hot/humid here). Managed to train for an Ironman here last year as well so its not too bad.
Training in Luanda is going well, although a couple of colds havent helped. I am nipping over to SA this weekend (its only a 4 hours flight) to do the Om Die Dam 50kms run around a dam just outside Jo'burg.
Have to leave here for a month while my work permit gets renewed in April/May so will start booking up some marathons back home and will add my name to the list when I do.
