well this was my first HM so pleased with my time of 2h 19m 36s. I have to agree with some of the comments made that it was very bland! I do the great south run every year (4th this year) so i'm used to the atmosphere created by lots of people so this was lacking big style. I will however say that it was well organised and the marshalls did a good job of encouraging whilst stood in the cold. As i was on my own i thought the baggage system worked very well. I got a chance to chat to a RW pacemaker, who i tried keeping with, who was really friendly and offered great advice to those who was willing to listen. I'd consider doing this again as the price was good for a large event and would like to set a better time! |

i'm with every one on this! was looking to do it as a training run before the silverstone HM but i paid less for that (even if your un-affiliated!!) it's a shame as it would be a yearly event locally i could do. |

Have tried a free sample and was pleasantly suprised. I normally use SIS products but like the sound of "pumping" the required dose rather than having to weigh it out, also having it available in pouches is great to take on those away trips for races. My sample was the lemon/lime flavour and was expecting it to be quite sickly but is was refeshing and didn't have the sticky, heavy feel you get with some energy drink products. I will be looking to purchase some within the next few weeks so will do a proper review for it after a few runs. |

I have also looked for my time to find my name is not listed! i have e-mailed and i'm awaiting there responce. As a beginner my times will vary from one race to the next so it's the miles in the legs that count most for me but i still like to know i have improved on my time. My garmin also read a little over 6 miles! I am completely mortified right now and feel an utter fool. I wrote a race report for my club and have told people. I feel so stupid right now. Trying to mark out the course on mapmyrun as I have no garmin, but I can't remember where it started from or anything. Stupid doesn't describe how I feel right now.
i know where i started so i will have a look and see what i get! wardie |
