My daughter tweeted a photo of my running pal and me to the Evening News so we're the last picture at the very bottom of their marathon webpage - I'm the little one!  My friend Anne unfortunately didn't make it past half way - she tripped in a pothole and ended up being carted off to hospital with a broken thumb, shoulder damage and a nasty bruise on her temple.  The Red Cross were very good, but they left her lying on the road for 45 minutes and then took another 20 to do the paperwork before getting her off to hospital....not a good end to the marathon for her

Valley - I'm with you on the parking - what a fiasco!  We had same misdirection problems, and ended up jumping out of the car to walk, letting long suffering hubby find his way to the car park without us.

Managed 4:44:11 and I'm over the moon.  I'd hoped to get in under 4:45 and started following the pacer but left him at about 7 miles and was doing fine up until about 18 when it was a real struggle to put one foot in front of the other.  I got to about 24 and who should come past me but the 4:45 pacer, so I managed (still not sure how) to dig deep and found new reserves of speed, just pipping him at the post.  Am now struggling to walk...

Lovely to meet up with Cybarev at about the 10k mark, and had a good chinwag which got us through several miles - hope you had a good one and have got home safely!

OK, off out in a minute to eat, drink and nurse my aching limbs - well done everyone!

I didn't think I'd be on here today, but I'm getting so excited I couldn't stay away!  Any excuse to chat with people obsessed with the same thing (instead of family who are starting to get fed up with me talking about nothing else.....).  I've just pinned my number on my vest and had yet another glass of water, but am having to ration myself with the flapjacks I made last night.  They're supposed to be the post race treat but at this rate there won't be any left!  I think I'll definitely go for the vest tomorrow, as I always think I'll be too cold and then end up boiling, so I might as well freeze first.

Cybarev - I'm with you on a sneaky glass of red this evening - the carbs have got to be good for you...  I'm back to trusty lasagne tonight, with porridge in the morning and then off to the pub tomorrow night to be fed and watered to excess.

Old Jamaica chocolate?  Is that the rummy flavoured one?  I used to love that!  Drooling just thinking about it...

OK I'd better do some work before 5pm comes!  Good luck everyone, and hope you all have a blast on Sunday!

We've got a group going out next week for a Persian (no, I've never had one before either) as our training buddy is doing the Stratford marathon on the same day - hopefully with more success than last year's fiasco!  I won't have my name on my top for once unless eveyone's going to call me "Stockport".  It says Nina on the bib, but you'll need glasses to read it...  That's where the Ninja comes from by the way - my nephew and an unfortunate accident with predictive text...
