It's simple really, they say the cost of the marathon is £46, when actually it's £51! I'm sorry, but I wouldn't enter a race at £50 so I feel pretty miffed that I missed the text telling me it was pick up pack only to then be told you can have the race number delivered but at a cost of £5. How is registered delivery £5 for a 6 gram/A4 parcel! On eBay, I would have identified the terms at the very start, because they make them nice and obvious, clearly these aren't obvious because there are more than one person complaining. I am thankful for living in Manchester, but for those people who do not and now have to travel in on a Friday or Saturday is just ridiculous. I'd like to get an insight into how much money they will be raising off the back of this and where this money will be going. Surely the £46 covers everything race related. pfft. Craig |

This is horrendous, the race entry fee is £46 and now I have to pay another £5 to have my race number posted to me! And then I don't even receive my goody bag, the bag that I have paid for - joke! Why would a race director want to re-invent the wheel for entering races? Every race I have entered the race number has always been sent to me via post or easily picked up on the day without any queueing issues and without any further cost. Why oh why would I want to go to Stretford leisure centre and queue up with thousands of people the day before the race! The organisers must have known the delivery strategy of race numbers and goody bags before the release of the notification sent out today to all registered runners. If I had known that I was going to be fleeced another £5 for entering this marathon I would have kept my place for London instead. I can't believe how poorly organised and communicated this has been to registered runners, extremely disappointed does not discribe enough, my feeling towards the manchester marathon right now. I chose Manchester over London because I am from Salford and it would be great to run around the area and take part in a great occassion. However this has really tainted the day for me and the thought of having to queue for hours to get my bloody race number and pack. Thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. Craig |

What a great and inspiring post, I wanted to run Snowdonia but had an injury preventing me from training to going to do it next year instead. dig deep Lou, you'll do it and everyone on RW is behind you - best of luck and let us know how you get on. Best regards, Craig |
