Funny you should say that, I actually feel worse this week after seeing the physio last week! Maybe that's just part of the process, he said it would be a few weeks before I noticed any real difference. Not particularly looking forward to attempting this weekend's long run!
The annoying thing about mine is I only feel it when I'm running - it's fine when sitting, walking and even cycling. My physio has said it's OK for me to keep running while it's being treated and I'm doing all the stretching and strengthening exercises, but I'm not sure I'd want to run with the niggling pain for a while marathon! I can only assume mine was caused by the ultra as it was fine before that, but I don't really know. I'll look into the Shockwave, thanks guys.
