Yvonne - I've got a hell of a lot less patience now than I had eight moths ago - just ask my wife !!

SR - Mentally it feels great, relaxing. Physically, well, there's room to improve.

5 more tortuous kilometers yesterday night, tonight there's a Galician mussels party in my local bar so no run this evening.

Hope eveyone else is training well.

A torn cartliage and partial ligament tear in my knee. For the first 5 months the specialist said do absolutely nothing - no bike, no swimming, no gym, don't squat. Those months  were the worst. Then a couple of months only bike and pool, but I don't have time for the pool, the bike was in the storage room in my flat, very boring. Now the doc has said that if I must run (and I must) then I'm to take things very slowly. Leg strengthening exercises working well, but at the moment I'm soooo unfit and everything wobbles. It's just as well running tights are streachy.

At least I've got seven months to get into some sort of shape before specific training - there'll be no racing this year.

Janpuzzle - thanks for replying re car parking, sorry to take so long in acknowlwging your reply.

Last night went for my first run in seven months - been injured. 5 kilometers, 35 minutes, felt like hell, I'm sure it's the extra 13 kilos.

Hello, I saw this marathon last year and quite fancied it but it was full. This year I've booked early. I used to live and work in Hove in lhe late 80's so quite fancy running there again. I'm living in Spain these days so this'll be a good excuse to get back for a few days. On the logistics side, for those who travelled on the day, where did they park the car - was there special parking? Or... did anyone get the early train on the morning - I see that there's one that get's to PP at around 6:30.

People over here are amazed that a marathon only in it's second year sold out 15000 so soon. Looks like 2012 will have more finishers than Madrid.
