Aws,

A few nasty ouches there,  sorry to read of the upsetting fall and the consequental discomforts.  Hard to manage shopping  after all that!  Wishing you  a speedy recovery which is not so easy at our time of life !

Diana,
Thats really good going, young lady, 50 successive days, wow

Ceal,
Belated happies for Stewart's 60th.  Enjoy your Cornwall break, we shall be there in July, hopefully

JJ,
Talking of diminishing numbers of M70 runners, I notice the parkrun (Hallam) in which I have run mostly (over 30) doesn't seem  to have any over70 in recent weeks and yet the field is almost 500. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any using the other 5 local parkrun venues either.

K2,
Nice to see you back, renowned as our topofthepagequeen!

Still knocking out steady mileage,  5 early am. Monday and 6 today.  Nowt special, just merely running to keep some sort of order to avoid dropping out just because of age .  Might try our RV this Sat instead of marshalling.

Marg phoned from Benidorm and complained about their dull cold andwet weather yesterday,  she had to purchase a cagoule and a cardigan !    Nicer today as it should be.

Mum has to see a specialist on Friday re memory.  I believe it's for an assessment, anyway Ishall go with her.

Columba,

Hope you have a great race in the 10m tomorrow.

Being on my own does feel a bit lonely, I must admit.  After 22 years always holidaying together it's a change for both of us !

Just received her text a few minutes ago arrived in Alicante ok.

Ceal,

Promising then, if you feel some improvement every day

Went to the RV 5k parkrun this morning  but didn't run and just did some marshalling before speeding home to take Marg and Syl to airport.

NZC Christine,

Great race time  there bearing in mind it turned out to be a muddy 5k !  Would have thought a bit hazardous too,  too easy to slip and slide and induce injury of some sort.

Mick6,

Very interesting graph  re ageing and decrease of runners as they get older.
But I can see you will still be up there in more than 5 years time

I suppose I should count myself lucky to at least get out there and run even if not very competitive.

Had a bit of trouble with typing that post so sent it without times.

Mile times first 2 and 3/4  was  12.28, 11.14 and 10.55 pace (for 3/4m)

5k test 10.29, 10.19, 9.51 and 0.57 for 0.10 ( I stopped after finish point where Garmin said 3.1miles).  Warmdown 0.72m back along the riverside trail.

Total mileage 6.55

TS,

You're right it is the same place which you ran in the 10k a few years back when I first met you.  By the way, the 5k also has some of that rough surface which you didn't like too much,  as you said then you like" smooth not rough" .

As per normal,  an easy Wednesday with a 4 mile run/walk recovery, 1 mile slow run and 3miles up and down hills walking.

Today back to a goodish run.  First 2 and 3/4 miles warmup on uppity trails. Then I thought I'd check the distance of the new 5k RV  parkrun. A one lap circular course.       Turned out to be a little short by 0.06m but then that could easily be due to a lot of the course being  widish so it depended on where the footfall went !  In other words a lot of runners would have different readings showing on their timepieces. A straight 3.1 mile would be best for accuracy but would be most boring to boot!
