Hi, I have been sent to this forum by Tricky Dicky as I had started up another Amsterdam forum which was becoming a little lonely.

Hope you are all doing well with your training so far. I am on a 16 week schedule although have been injured recently so I reckon the first 4 weeks will be gradual build up and last 12 weeks some serious training. My marathon PB is 3 hours 17 mins at Edinburgh, although going to try break the 3 hour mark, do you think its possible on 12 weeks good training? I am 27 and have run 3 marathon previously.

Is everyone staying about Amsterdam for a few days after for a party?

Pkim, thats amazing, I have heard so much good stuff about Chicago, should be a really good trip! are you going to spend some time over there too?

haha i think the early start in Amsterdam might be a killer for me. Staying in a hostel with 3 friends who are all just over to party! and for a bit of support as well!

Run to the beat, glad to hear you are doing your first marathon! 20 weeks good training should definitely see you through, do you have a target time? Fingers crossed for no injuries, I think if you get the full 20 weeks injury free that is the main thing! Haha yea definitely looking forward to it being flat too, I have heard it is fast and a good one for first timers/ PB potential.

Ok I will ask a question a day for some feedback and to help us all on our training!

What is your favorite pre-run food? I am never too sure, usually just go for a small sandwich or banana

Hi Pablo

That's great that you are running the half! is it on the same day as the full? That definitely sounds like quite a challenge running a half 2 weeks after! are you just going to completely rest in between the two runs?

I guess you have already started your training for the marathon yet? where is that one? are you expecting a PB?

Andy
