I fractured my 2nd metatarsal April 2012 which took 3 weeks to diagnose but I then chose a slipper boot cast so i could swim as doing nothing would have sent me under !! I was out of running for about 5 months but I then came back to do 2 marathons since including Snowdonia !! Good luck as it is painful but patience really is a virtue .
I think I suffer from piriformis syndrome although mine starts in the bum cheek and goes to the right side of my right hip down to my knee. I've been stretching etc , there seems to be a mixed bag of opinions over whether to keep running or not. I run 3 times a week , 2 of around 7 miles and my long one never goes over 12 at the mo as I'm not training for anything. What are people's thoughts ?
I have been diagnosed with a 2nd metatarsal stress fracture and put into a removable cast. I was training for the manchester marathon last week. I have not run since the 1st April which is which is when my injury started but i have for the last 2 weeks been swimming mon -fri. I was running approx 40 miles a week over 5 days. I need advice over how to return to training when allowed to stop myself a) gomong back to it too quick and b) to prevent it happening again please.
