At my age I get more satisfaction out of washing the car before a race than I do out of sex the night before - am I doing this wrong...should I go with the dirty car and try out this sex thing again ????...maybe not !!! I can always finish the race and the car...but sex ??? I'm not so sure....
One of the runs I especially look forward to is the Leeds Abbey dash but unfortunately I am suffering a trapped nerve in the lower back that is giving me terrible pain down the leg...I must be sick when I write about it like this. I see from the posts that the entries are full for this year so if there is anybody out there would like a number to allow them to run...Give me a shout. I have one I will not be using
Redcar, Teesside, half marathon in March is superb. Very, very flat - a couple of laps around the town on closed roads and a long final push along the seafront to the finish - About a thousand runners, no big names but a great run...Good changing- good tee shirt etc.,
This will be my fourth Abbey Dash. Start slowly then slow down a bit !!! the surge at the beginning lulls you into a sense of complacency..then you run out of steam a bit and the last couple of K seems much harder than you had thought....However I will be there it slogging out. Did 53.08 last year..not bad for a pensioner I suppose. The last runner clocked 80.36
