It has been very time consuming setting it up,but I'm really pleased with it.I tried to keep the layout clean and simple,so the photographs stand out more.
It is great to see everyone putting in good miles in their training.I managed an 8.4 mile run last week, which is my longest in nearly 3 years.I'm going to do shorter runs this week to consolidate, and then aim for 10 miles. It feels good to be getting back to long distances again.
A tune for you all to listen to is Kate Bush and Running Up That Hill.
Sorry I've been absent for a few days.I'm busy setting up a new website for my photography, and it's a bit taxing and time consuming.I've also had to drive my wife to quite a few appointments this week, which has eaten into my free time a lot.
It sounds like everyone is putting in some good training at the moment, and none of us are injured, which is great.
MC,Glad your new job is going well.
Jude, well done on your training, and I hope you have a good 18 miler. With those kind of mileages under your belt, you should be able to do the marathon.
Franny, well done on an excellent Parkrun.
AF Good to see you are still putting in loads of miles.
As I mentioned,I'm very busy sorting out my photography website at the moment, and I've rebranded my business name..I did find time to get my 7 mile run in last weekend, and I really enjoyed getting some distance in.On Monday I did my first speed training session, running 3x600m intervals, which was very hard work.Today I did a 4 mile run,and did it a little faster than last time, which I'm pleased with. But I had another migraine afterwards. Not a bad one,but it is definitely caused by my running.I'm sure it's related to either my heart rate or brain chemistry,so I may need to see the doctor and try and get some meds to stop it.I'm not going to let it stop me from running.
A tune for you all to listen to,is a track by a great new band from Brighton who are going to be massive. It's Royal Blood with ''Little Monsters''.
Chili, your holiday sounds great.I think it's great that Parkrun takes place over the whole country,so no matter where you are, come Saturday morning, you can find one and enjoy a different running experience, but know the routine.Your walks sound great.I guess if you are going to walk with friends, you have to rein yourself in,and take them on a walk they can manage,or accept that you will be going at the pace of the slowest. They may find an incentive in seeing how fit you are.
Franny, well done on being so fit,and feeling young.
AF,welcome back.It sounds like a great holiday, and well done on all the running.
Jude, well done on all that running and fitness,as well as all the work stuff.Enjoy your new telly.
MC well done on your 4 miler.I hope a good massage makes your calf feel better.
On Sunday I went on a photography workshop in the New Forest to take pictures of the heather. It was really good. The weather wasn't perfect, and we didn't get the sunset we had hoped for,but I got a few good photos. There were a couple of very steep hills to climb on the route, which I was glad I wasn't having to run up.
I'm going to head out for my long run tomorrow morning. I'm thinking of going on a long hilly run of about 7 miles.
The tune of today is by Paramore with ''Living In The Real World''
Well I made it to my first Parkrun, and I really enjoyed it.I was very nervous. So nervous I forgot to start my Garmin, and only noticed after 2k that it wasn't recording the time or distance. It didn't matter as I had it switched on,so I could at least check my pace, and there were km distance markers. It was great to be on a startline with other runners, and I loved the friendly atmosphere.I didn't hit my target of 35:00,but I wasn't too far out at 35:53.And part of the course was quite hilly, which I hadn't factored in.I really enjoyed it,and I'm going to do a lot more of them.My 5k PB is 26.52 on a course much harder than today's,so I have a long way to go to be at my best.
Franny, well done on your Parkrun.Sounds like you had better conditions time than last week.
Chili, have a lovely time in Devon.
Today's tune is bit of desert rock by Queens Of The Stone Age with ''Go With The Flow''.
MC, I hope you have had a lovely last day of your hols.It seems such a lovely place.
Franny, well done on the 10 miles and gym work.Hope you have a good Parkrun.
Well tomorrow I am hoping to do my first Parkrun in Eastleigh.I'm a bit nervous about it,because I haven't stood on a start line since 2011.I'm going to aim to finish in 35 mins, which should be achievable given that I still haven't got any pace back into my running yet. That will be over 9 mins over my 5k PB,but I hope to introduce some speed work into my training next month, which should see my 5k time improve.I would like to go sub 30 by the end of the year.
Today's tune is Tom Petty with ''Running Down A Dream'' .
