Hi everyone. Isn't it quiet in here at the moment.Everyone must be enjoying the summer.
Franny,I hope you had a good break in Holland.
MC, Enjoy your new car.
AF,well done on your running, especially 2 runs and boot camp.
Jude, glad you had a nice birthday, but I would buy a very expensive prezzy,on your hubby's credit card to compensate for his forgetfulness.Well done on keeping up some training during Ramazan.Just a week to go and you can celebrate.Nice that your parents will be there.
Very busy trying to set up my photography business.Hopefully I will be ready to sell some of my work fairly soon.Once I have this sorted I can start to go and take some more photos.
My wife is struggling a bit in the hot weather,so not feeling very well, and her MS seems to be worsening, which is a real worry.
On the running front, I have had another good week, and I'm getting stronger all the time.I was going to go out this morning, but it was too hot,so i'll go out this evening.
Franny,I hope you are feeling better after Chico sabotaged your run.It sounds like a lovely place to run.
Well this week I have managed to run every other day, doing a long run, then a short run, with a rest day in between, and on Friday I ran 5 miles for the first time this year, which I'm really happy about. It feels like a proper distance at last.Very slow, but I'm sure the speed will return in time. For now it's all about building my endurance.I did a short 2 mile run this morning. It's probably been my best week of running since 2011,so I am buzzing right now.I have got my Mojo back.
Hi to Tom,Ecky,Loula,and Chili.
I hope Chili comes back soon.I know she was recovering from her operation, and her hubby had just lost his brother,so I hope everything is all right.
Hi everyone. It's been a while since I posted here.I've been very busy with finishing my college work, and I'm setting up various photography pages, the first of which some of you have seen on Facebook.hanks if you liked my page.
I hadn't run for a week and a half before this morning.I ran 4.5 miles a week ago last Wednesday, which is the furthest I have run this year, but I had some pain in my left knee.I eased off the pace and ran through it,and finished the run,but it was sore after,so I gave it some time to recover.Today I ran an undulating 4 miles and my knee felt fine.I did get a lot of aches from my hip flexor muscles though.Never had that before, but it didn't feel like I was going to pull them. They just ached.I'm planning on going for a short run on Wednesday, and then go for 5 miles on Friday.
I hope you are all well.
Franny, glad you had a great hols.
Jude, well done on getting the nectarines picked, and a big well done to Elif.
AF,hope your race went well.
Hi MC,Ecky,Lainey,Tom,Loula, and Chilli. Yes where is Chilli?
MC, I hope these colds clear up soon.Franny is right, you definitely need a holiday to perk you up.Take it easy on that half mara, and just concentrate on getting round.
Franny, happy birthday to Kenny for yesterday.Glad you both had a good Parkrun.I do like the sound of a juicer,so I may get one.Enjoy your days off.
Jude, congrats to your son on his piano grade.Hope you make it through Ramadan ok.Maybe running early morning may work,as you are on holiday. Then you will still have fuel to burn from the previous nights food, especially if you carb up.
AF,it's hard not to feel lethargic in these warm conditions.
Hi Loula,Lainey,Tom,Ecky,Nandy,Matt and Chilli.
Well I managed to slowly up the mileage this week, and I ran 4 miles yesterday. It was very slow, but it was really hot.I had a sore hamstring afterwards but it feels fine today.I haven't got any of my pace back, but I'm starting to feel my endurance returning.I'm just going to concentrate on slowly upping the distance over the coming months, and then start to work on my pace as I get stronger. That way I should avoid injuries.
Had a busy week with college work.Still got loads to do before I hand it in in a weeks time.I finally got my marks for last terms module and I got another distinction,so I just need another one this term to have completed my BTEC Certificate with Distinction. It is a lot of pressure on this last terms work,as the overall mark is based on the lowest score achieved,so 2 distinctions and a pass would only mean a basic pass.I should be ok though.
We went to visit a therapy centre for my wife on Thursday. It seems very nice and everyone was very friendly. She is going to be having hyperbaric oxygen treatment, which means going into a diver's oxygen chamber and having the pressure increased whilst breathing pure oxygen.Apparently it is supposed to help.I really hope it does.
